The M.O.V Elbow Arrester provides overvoltage system protection in an insulated, fully shielded, submersible housing. The arrester housing interface conforms to IEEE Std 386™-2006 standard-Separable Insulated Connector Systems. The arrester housing is molded of EPDM insulating rubber, which provides deadfront safety in a small, clamp stick operable unit. M.O.V.E. arresters are used on underground systems in pad-mounted transformer and entry cabinets, vaults, switching enclosures, and other installations to provide shielded deadfront arrester protection. They are designed for use with 200 A loadbreak interfaces that conform to the IEEE Std 386™-2006 standard to limit over voltages to acceptable levels, protect equipment and extend cable life.

1. EPDM INSULATION
High-quality peroxide-cured EPDM insulation is mixed and formulated in-house for complete control of raw rubber characteristics.
2. PULLING EYE
Stainless steel reinforced pulling eye allows easy installation and removal using a clampstick.
3.MOV DISK COLUMN
MOV disks are rigidly joined into a single assembly using high-conductivity silver-loaded epoxy to ensure reliable connections between blocks.
4. DRAIN WIRETAB
Tab ensures that jacket remains at ground potential, meeting safety practice requirements. The tab is located away from the pull eye to minimize clutter.
5. SEMI-CONDUCTING SHIELD
High-quality peroxide-cured semiconducting EPDM shield meets requirements of IEEE Std 592™-2018 standard.
6. STAINLESS STEEL CAP
Stainless steel end cap is magneformed around molded-in sealing rings on rubber shank to provide a tight. weatherproof seal and ground lead connection.
7. GROUND LEAD
6mm² flexible copper stranded woven ground lead (1000mm long) reliably carries current to ground during voltage surges.
