The T surge arrester designed to protect 24 kV components, including transformers, equipments, cable and accessories from high voltage surges resulting from lightning or switching.
It has been designed to be used with the MS 24-630 separable t connector.
Continuous operating voltage:
· Provides fully shielded deadfront arrester protection.
· Metal (zinc) Oxide Varistor (MOV) gapless design.
· EPDM insulation rubber molded around MOV module.
· No minimum phase clearance requirements.
· 100% electrical tested at factory.
Tests conducted in accordance with lEC 60502-4.

A two-terminal resistive element, composed of an electronic semiconductor and suitable contacts that has a markedly nonlinear volt-ampere characteristic

Precision molded peroxide cured semiconducting insert provides corona-free electrostatic shielding of the compression connector.
3. SEMICONDUCTING SHIELD
Precision molded peroxide cured semiconducting shield provides ground shield continuity.
4. INSULATION LAYER
High quality peroxide cured EPDM Insulation is mixed and formulated in-house for complete control of rubber characteristics.
5. STUD
Zinc plated, threaded steel stud.
6. CONDUCTIVE RUBBER CAP
Provide a complete grounding system
7. INSULATING PLUG
Molded epox y insul a ting plug provides excellent electrical, thermal and mechanical reliability.
8. DRAIN WIRE TAB
Drain wire tabs provide a convenient point to connect drain wire to ensure grounding of the connector shield.
9. STEELCAP
Portion of an arrester in which each end of the unit is terminated with an electrode which is exposed to the external environment.
